In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…..And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Does anyone else sometimes struggle with obeying God like Jesus did? You are not alone. I was recently doing a short 5 Day devotional about obedience and found it very helpful. Most of this material is a combination of the author's topics and my own scripture diving. My hope is that it will encourage you and draw you closer to our Heavenly Father. Our obedience brings God joy.

(Luke 6:46-49 NASB20) "Now why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when there was a flood, the river burst against that house and yet it could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation; and the river burst against it and it immediately collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great."

Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd. And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep." Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise." So, he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother. Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, "A great prophet has risen up among us"; and, "God has visited His people." And this report about Him went throughout all Judea and all the surrounding region.

This passage is such a powerful message of love and forgiveness. There is so much to unpack here. I am positive that I have only scratched the surface, however, there are some wonderful nuggets that the Spirit has blessed me with.
